Step 1:

Add pebl to Your Home Screen

Welcome to pebl — we’re so excited you’re here.

Now that you’re on board, let’s make accessing pebl quick and effortless. Your first step is to add pebl to your phone’s home screen — just like an app.

Here’s how:

On iPhone (Safari):

  1. Open pebl connect in Safari

  2. Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow pointing up)

  3. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”

  4. Tap “Add” in the top right corner

On Android (Chrome):

  1. Open pebl connect in Chrome

  2. Tap the three dots menu in the top right

  3. Tap “Add to Home Screen”

  4. Tap “Add” to confirm

This puts pebl one tap away — for you and for your child. Because when the moment is there, you don't want to go looking for it.

Step 2:

Sign-in to Your pebl Account

Here’s how:

  1. Open pebl connect from your home screen

  2. Enter the email address you signed up with

  3. Check your email inbox for a sign-in code (this usually arrives within a minute or two)

  4. Enter the code into pebl connect

  5. Tap “Verify” to continue

Now that pebl is on your home screen, let’s get you signed in.

This step is quick and secure — you’ll just confirm your identify using your email.

You're in. Take a breath — the hard part is behind you.

Step 3:

Set Up Your Child’s Profile

Next, let's set up your child's profile. This is what makes pebl theirs.

This step is quick and only takes a moment.

Here’s what you’ll add:

  1. Your child’s first name.

  2. A nickname (optional).

  3. Your child’s school email address.

That’s it — nothing else required.

We do not collect any additional personal information.

Step 4:

Add pebl Partners (Your Circle of Care)

Now it’s time to set up your child’s pebl Partners — their circle of care.

These are the trusted people you choose who can also receive your child’s daily pebbles and support your child through their pebl experience. This might include your spouse, a grandparent, aunt or uncle, therapist, coach, or another trusted adult that you choose.

You are always in control. Only you can add or remove pebl Partners from the account.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top left corner of your screen.

  2. Select “Add pebl Partners”.

  3. Enter the person’s name.

  4. Enter their email address.

  5. Tap “Add” to save.

Don't worry about getting this perfect right now. You can add and remove partners anytime. Even one person receiving your child's pebls makes the circle real.

Step 5:

Letting Your Child’s School Team Know

This is the most important step — and the one that makes everything else work.

Your child needs one minute a day at school to enter their pebl. That's it. One minute. But without their teacher knowing, that minute doesn't exist.

Contact their resource teacher today — before your child gets home from school if you can. The sooner their teacher knows, the sooner your trial starts working the way it's designed to.

You have two options:

Call: A two minute phone call is often the fastest yes. Simply say:

"Hi, I just signed my child up for a tool called pebl connect. It takes one minute a day and I'd love your support in giving them that minute. Can I tell you quickly how it works?"

Email: If a call isn't possible then copy, paste, and edit the message below and send it today:

Hi (Teacher’s Name),

I wanted to let you know that we’ve signed up (Child’s Name) for pebl connect. pebl is a simple tool that helps families have more meaningful conversations about the school day. Students capture quick reminders (“pebls”) during the day, which are sent to a parent app and used to guide after-school conversations.

There’s no setup or ongoing work required on your end — we’ve taken care of everything. To help make this successful, we have a few small requests:

  • Please allow access to peblconnect.com and peblconnect.app on the school network (your tech team may need to add it to the approved list),
    or

  • Allow (Child’s Name) to use their phone briefly to enter pebls

  • If possible, include “Enter pebls and talk with your family” as part of (Child’s Name)’s routine or homework (Google Classroom, Canvas, etc.).

It takes less than two minutes a day, and making space at the end of class or during a reflection period works well.

Step 6:

Your First pebl — Do It Together Right Now

This is the moment everything was built for.

Don't wait until tonight. Do this now — together (it’s a good practice run).

Sit beside your child with your phone in your hand. Ask them to open pebl on their device — their phone or their school Chromebook if it's accessible.

Then say this and nothing more:

"Think about today. Pick one thing — anything. Write it in 3-5 words exactly how it comes to you. Don't explain it. Just write it."

Then watch what happens on your phone.

What you'll see:

The moment your child hits send, their pebl arrives on your phone. Just their words. Nothing else.

You probably won't know what it means.

That's not a glitch. That's pebl working exactly the way it's supposed to.

Those few words — confusing, random, surprising as they might seem — are your way in. They're your child handing you a door and saying you can knock.

So knock.

Look at your child and say: "Tell me about this."

Then stop talking.

Let them lead. Let them explain. Let them teach you something about their day that you never would have known to ask about.

Don't interpret it. Don't finish their sentences. Don't fix anything.

Just listen.

That's pebl. That's the whole thing.

A note on devices:

Your child can enter their pebls on their phone or their school Chromebook. We recommend their phone as the most reliable option — school networks sometimes have firewalls that may affect access to pebl on a Chromebook. If your child's school allows it, a Chromebook works too. Your child and their resource teacher will figure out together what works best in their classroom.
